Issue reported following a discussion here on a French mailing list.

Steps to reproduce:

  • Open a received message to read.
  • Press contrôl+R

Actual behavior:

  • Briefly, an alignment message is reported, e.g. "Left aligned"
  • An answer message is opened.

Notes:

  • That alignment message may be more or less audible since it is truncated due to the fact that a new window is taking focus. What can actually be heard seems to depend on the system of the user. Anyway, looking at the log or using speech history add-on, the presence of the alignment message is clearly seen.
  • The issue appears in French NVDA specifically now that alignment messages are reported in Outlook (2020.4). However, I guess it also appears in English NVDA / Outlook since control+R is used to right-align the text in Word documents (and Outlook messages) and is also the shortcut to reply to a message.

Expected behavior:

  • No alignment info should be reported
  • The answer message should be opened as it is actually.

Other questions

Does the issue still occur after restarting your computer?

Yes

Have you tried any other versions of NVDA? If so, please report their behaviors.

Issue not present in NVDA 2020.3 due to translation change.
But I guess it should already be present in English in NVDA 2020.3.

If add-ons are disabled, is your problem still occurring?

Yes

Does the issue still occur after you run the COM Registration Fixing Tool in NVDA's tools menu?

Yes
