For example, when I bookmark in Nautilus a folder from a remote server via SFTP, it would be nice to show a folder icon with some network emblem.

Moka Icon Theme does it.

Can you give a screenshot of the icon you're talking about? We do have a remote folder icon in Numix so it's probably just not connected up correctly :)
