error on line_items_controller_test.rb, see discussion on website (http://forums.pragprog.com/forums/148/topics/10565). This is due to mass assignment problem. also, update test is different in 
generated script that on site, those in # are from site

But we don’t define a method with that name. However, Active Record notices the call to an undefined method and spots that it starts with the string find_by and ends with the name of a column.
It then dynamically constructs a finder method for us, adding it to our class

E2: handling errors
deal with errors and error reporting, Rails uses structure called flash. Flash info is accessible within views
Also, can't use instance var because we have now moved on to new requests. Flash is stored in session

highlighting works, but there is an issue with border being highlighted as well. solution is

bunch of fixes on occured while testing using rake:test, before the ajax testing. see git's commit with comment "before Task F Ajax test"

ON before iteration G: not sure how all the Ajax works, need to pick up jQuery and CoffeeScript


ON iteration G: did migration, no failure on rake:test. will change line_item model to have order_id as accessible

aside: command for sqlite3 console is sqlite3 db/development.sqlite3 OR sqlite3 -line db/development.sqlite3

ON DEPOT O own testing after adding form and css on order:

ON DEPOT Q bundle install will also cross-check gem dependcies. Need to restart server when doing this.


ONE DEPOT Q running a script: rails runner script/load_orders.rb

To try later: remove the \/ button when placing an order, else cart disappers. Not sure if Rails can detect which page you are on.

removed   <td><%= button_to 'V', decrement_line_item_path(line_item), method: :post, remote: true %></td> on _line_items.html.erb because test is complaining of some forgery
also simplified the order_notifier_test to just "Ruby Programming Language"; removed text from shipped.text.rb

 has_secure_password in model enables validation that the passwords typed match

ON DEPOT R: form_tag = This style
of form allows us to associate values in the params structure directly with form
fields—no model object is required

ON Iter K:
problems with starting apache, no need for listen 80 or namevirtualhost on apache2.conf.some other config files must have defined it. also, i am able to bind to port 80. httpd does not seem to be a service anymore in apache2. in the future, check  sites-enabled in the /etc/apache2 folder. to restart apache2 to do this: sudo /etc/init.d/apache2 restart.
needed to add RailsEnv development to the apache config
had to change sites-enabled from 80 to 8080 to make site work

to run mysql mysql -u root -p
