List of obsolete extensions/options #1794
Comments
Note about ReplyViewer: Tumblr's notes only show replies/reblog comments back to the point they changed the View Notes functionality (2016 IIRC). Any notes prior to that only show in ReplyViewer so it's not been entirely superceded. |
from a quick test with posts from my archive, i can see reblog comments in the notes view as early as 2013 (using new dashboard) edit: from a further test, it looks like comments from prior a certain date ARE hidden/inaccessible, but only if a comment is added after that date |
regardless, i think finding years-old replies/comments is too much of an edge-case to warrant maintaining ReplyViewer. if there's enough demand for it, it should be possible to create a new extension that specifically finds otherwise unfindable comments, but ReplyViewer's original intention (viewing replies and reblog comments without them being muddled in with generic notifications) has been superceded. that behaviour is definitely classifiable as a Tumblr bug though |
As you said - cut-off point must be earlier, so debateable as to the usefulness of seeing them anyway. Worth reporting to Tumblr though. |
Are the ones obsolete on legacy obsolete on redpop as well? |
@mtae yes |
tracking issue for XKit things that have been superceded by Tumblr updates. some of these are now obsolete because of the React site, but some have long since been obsolete but haven't been removed to reduce user churn
