Environment

  • SqlPackage or DacFx Version: 0.2.0-preview
  • .NET Framework (Windows-only) or .NET Core: 17.12.0 Preview 2
  • Environment (local platform and source/target platforms): Windows 11, .NET 9.0 RC2

Issue

Setting the Name property on the project does not affect the output file generated by the build... it will match the name of the Project instead.
 

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Set the name tag in the project file to something different than the Project name.
  2. Compile the project.
  3. Check the Bin folder, the name of the .dacpac file matches the name of the project.

Did this occur in prior versions? If not - which version(s) did it work in?
Unknown, assuming it did.

@robertmclaws, can you please describe, if this issue happened on opening an existing project or in a new project created in Visual Studio?

Can you try using the dacpac name property from the Property Page in Visual Studio?
