Meteor2 is the newest version of meteor, is a computational tool for gene, species and strain-level microbial profiling (bacteria, archaea, and viruses) from metagenomic shotgut sequencing data.

Meteor2 relies on 10 microbial gene catalogues clustered into Metagenomic Species Pan-genomes (MSPs).
