Mealie container crashes and then restarts in an endless loop #3904

Hi !

Just trying to set up a Mealie Docker container for the first time (have used Docker for years).
For some reason my container seems to crash and then restarts going on in an endless loop, and I can't figure out why.

I hope that someone has an idea on how to solve it... I have tried 1.10.0 too, and also versions before that, all with the same crash and restart loop.

I see in the logs that it says: Stopped for a minute with exit code 139

What happens if you just use our sample compose file from the docs, without changing a thing?

Just tried. The result is the same...

Can't use it without changing it.
I had to add

"version '3'" at the top
Otherwise it threw this error: ERROR: The Compose file './docker-compose.yaml' is invalid because:
Unsupported config option for services: 'mealie'
Had to add "" around true for the allow_signup
Otherwise it threw this error: ERROR: The Compose file './docker-compose.yaml' is invalid because:
services.mealie.environment.ALLOW_SIGNUP contains true, which is an invalid type, it should be a string, number, or a null
Had to modify the storage path to fit my setup

Resulting compose file:

Specifying the version shouldn't be required. Are you using the docker compose command or docker-compose command? The latter is deprecated, you should be using docker compose.

If you're using the correct command (docker compose) and you're still getting an error when you don't specify the version, docker probably isn't updated.

I'm using docker-compose up -d.
Using docker compose up -d I get a error stating wrong syntax.
I am using Docker V20.10.3 and Compose V1.25.0.

Might just be that they´re too old ?

Definitely worth upgrading and trying again. I'm running Docker v27 and Compose v2.28, so you're a fair way behind.
