Feature request: Subsetting of fonts #8
Comments
@iainvdw Thanks for the issue. How would you envision that working? Similar to FontPrep? |
Sorry for the late reply, but yes similar-ish to FontPrep. Maybe in the form of a dropdown list, check which subsets you would want, with an optional field to specify character ranges. You could take a look at https://transfonter.org/ perhaps? It's a very simple UI for selecting subsets, specifying characters ranges or just a small set of characters. |
@briangonzalez Any update on this maybe? :) |
@iainvdw No updates, nor a definite timetable for the release of such a feature if it were to be included. We'll be sure to provide those here. Thanks! |
I think that giving a characters set (from a raw string or txt file) and generate a the subset would be useful, which help people to generate more small fonts for application. |
I was just about to add this request. Just found the app and yes, please add character subsetting +1 Great job on the app |
Thanks for this tool, it works very nice and fast! I do have a small feature request though.
FontPrep had the ability to subset the selected font(s) to only convert a certain character range. The advantage of this that the converted webfonts would be of a significantly smaller file size as unneeded character(s)/ranges can be left out.
I can't find this option in FontPlop, but I would be very interested in this feature (and most certainly, a lot of other people as well 😉). Can this be added to FontPlop?
