Maybe? It also might be intentional for less permissions...
Describe the solution you'd like
When I am browsing in the file manager and I open a text file, I get the "Open with" prompt where I can choose a number of apps. It will open Squircle but has no permissions to read the file "open failed: EACCESS (Permission 'denied)". Other text editors are (ACode, Browsers...etc), and they can. I tried to manually add storage permissions in Android Settings and cannot.
Describe alternatives you've considered
Maybe a bolt on or another application that will forward open requests to Squircle?

Just came here to file the same issue. Can't open any files at all in Android 14 due to an EACCES Error (Permission Denied) but Squircle CE doesn't request file access or anything except for Notifications.
I thought maybe I could work around the issue by sharing a bunch of text to the app and going that route but it doesn't populate/isn't an option when sharing text via the system share menu.
I guess in the interim it'll have to be QuickEdit+ or EMACS
