Feature Request

Allow for a custom specific orbit as a destination.

I'm working on this. As of now no help needed. Issue created as a point to talk about ideas.

Currently I think the best way to do this would be to:

  • Add a destination type "custom"
  • Add parameters for this destination type
  • use a similar function as for rendevouz with vessels, but instead of getting the target parameters from the target vessel get it from user input

Interesting idea! What are the scenarios that this would enable?

For example you could do the "place Satellite in orbit around kerbin" almost fully automatic (you just have to bring it into a parking orbit and enter the orbit specifics (the last one could be automated at a later point using another KSP plugin written by JonnyOThan, but that would maybe be a later target).

Is there a documentation on the flows the program follows? Started trying to reverse Engineer it from the files, but if there is a documentation it would be much easier ^^

Also for getting into specific orbits in RSS that enable more complex contracts. For example, Lunar Equatorial Orbit (not Mun, but RSS Moon).

Assuming this RSVP library works for RSS too.
