Hello, i have readed about your issue that some chips are old bc357, remarked as bc417.
I have found some different types
i own 1, and 6
1- I have purchased yesterday, and i can't even detect what is inside, cause bluesuite says: error detecting chip - also IC is BC41C143BGQ
2 - not worked, gives spi error based on #25
4 - Seems worked based on #25
5 - have fake IC based on #25
6 - Worked well, i have successfuly refreshed it to RN42
Maybe we as community can fill this thread with test, to finally say, this work - another not, and researchers in future, can not spend money and time, to try make it work.
Also if you have different hc-05 that is not on image, upload it here pls, to add it to list
By the way, if my chip is really BC4 device, what can be reason, that i can't connect to it?
