Description

mintmenu icon size does not change when panel size changes.

Environment

This has been reproduced on Linux Mint 20.1 MATE and Linux Mint 20.2 MATE, with the default mint menu icon. I have also reproduced this using the live ISOs.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Right-click on the panel, and select Properties
  2. Change the Size to something different. I changed it using mouse scroll, the panel size changed.
  3. Click Close.
  4. Restart the computer.

Expected result

The mint menu icon size changes according to the panel size

Actual result

The mint menu icon size does not change when the panel size changes. It does not change when I click Close. It does not change when the computer is restarted.

The same is still true for mintMenu 6.1.8 on Mint MATE 22.

The "Size" option is gone, but the problem is still visible when system settings have the taskbar/icon/font size changed for accessibility reasons:

Changing com.linuxmint.mintmenu applet-icon-size with dconf-editor has no effect, even after logging out and back in.

Changing the available icons and the current icon from the 96x96 svg from /usr/share/icons/hicolor/scalable/apps/ to a custom svg with larger default size, from dconf-editor, causes mintMenu to reset the current icon setting and start using up 100% CPU until killed.
