That is correct. The main branch runs entirely out of intiramfs, unless you have the experimental arm9linuxfw branch to allow SD card read/write. That branch is not stable yet, however, so you may encounter issues using it, or possibly data corruption.

I'm still working on getting the SDIO bus moved to the ARM11 wholesale. The kernel is not attempting to read from the devices on the bus, and i'm unsure why. It'll be a long time before any of this is considered "stable".
