Cannot control track parameters of base audio mixer

I was trying to map the default 4-channel Kushview mixer with that of my new MIDI mixer controller, but was only able to control the master volume with a slider. And even in that case, there's a lot of stuttering, with the volume not dynamically changing with the slider. None of the mute buttons can be mapped, either.
