Well played and nice to put a face to the creator of Jambox! This is my - now 50% - Jambox powered band playing over Jamulus and Zoom in the summer |

Yes, lovely playing, and great to see who we have to thank for Jambox! We're still experimenting with Jamulus, sorting out the various network, computer and audio interface situations in the band, but I've had a couple of very good sessions already with our other guitarist with the server running on a Jambox. It handles five clients effortlessly: a backing track (to replace the missing members), a clicktrack, my guitar, my voice, and his guitar, so I'm confident it will handle the entire band fine. The best thing is that, unlike a computer (which is typically needed for other things as well), we can pass it around to see whose location and internet connection works best. I've set up another Jambox as a client with a Pisound HAT, which may turn out to be the perfect solution for some band members. Everything in one tiny package, and with lower latency than my studio workstation. We'll definitely post a video once everything is up and running! |

Massive fan of the project Kevin! I wanted to share some stuff we did last year before jambox existed if that's ok? The jambox now lives on my pedalboard and is my go-to device! These were both done as 'Virtual Performances' for 2 UK festivals, Techfest and ArcTangent. My band is called Axiom, we're a 3 piece instrumental prog/rock/metal band https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u_fA-FIDapQ Drum - Josh Ainsworth Similarly to you, we recorded it on the server, exported it to reaper where stems were created for our engineer who mixed the result in cubase. Video was recorded on our phones and edited in DaVinchi resolve. |

Here's a little something to start off the "Show and Tell" category - I encourage others to add their own.
If you haven't jammed online yet - yes it can really work, and when it works it it's pretty fun.
This is a recording of an ensemble I play with at Jazz Night School in Seattle (the instructor is Jared Hall). The tune is "Jackie in the Rain" by Terence Blanchard.
Musicians:
Geoff Fitch - Guitar
Paul Blaney - Drums
Matt Shevrin - French Horn
Kevin Doren - Keyboard
Bill Berry - Bass
The audio was recorded on our Jamulus server, then downloaded and mixed in Reaper.
The video is from a parallel (no-audio) Zoom call and was synced to the audio later.
Keyboard and Drums are using Jambox on Raspberry Pi.
