Upload file to custom folder

Hi folks

I have an form designed for new website. The data is dumped in a custom table in the database via the contactform7_before_send_mail( $form_to_DB ) function.
However, i need to be able to upload files (images and documents) to a folder other than the default 'uploads'.
I can make the custom folder at each submission of the form but the file itself ends up in the uploads folder.
I have tried every which way, but I guess I must be missing something

Any thoughts folks?
