Opening the settings pane clears the chat input box

Description

If I've typed some text into the chat UI's input box, then I open the settings, then I close the settings with the ⬅️ button, the chat UI's input box is empty.

Reproduce

1. Type text into the chat UI's input box.
2. Open the settings with ⚙️ .
3. Close the settings with ⬅️ .
4. The chat UI's input box is empty.

Expected behavior

The chat UI's input box retains the text the user had entered before opening the settings pane.
