When using the music player, the up/down options on the remote now switches between the controls and the timeline. I propose…
Make one more click up go to the artist / album name at the top, which would allow for selecting (with left/right clicks) with artists page, or returning to the album page. The text could change to underline when they were selected.
Make a click down from the controls activate the screen saver. Right/left could change the screensaver style, for example, 1. Current bouncing album cover, 2. A screen with the artist/album/track name in gray in one of the corners which would change corners each track, 3. A visualizer of some kind like a waveform or equalizer, 4. Nothing (blank screen) 5… different screensaver appearances could be added later.
The last down click could go to a screen the displays metadata/technical data for the current track. This could have a small album cover in the corner with metadata beyond the basics, so classical music could display data like composer, movement if they have been entered. A down click from here could return to screen 1 (the current player).
Additional context
I started thinking about this because I was playing music in a dark room trying to get to sleep and the flashing of the screen into screensaver, then black then the screensaver reappearing was annoying. I liked the idea of seeing the artist/song while I was just starting to relax, but it could be something like the dark gray text on a black background I described.
If the different screensavers were modular, they could be added over time and new ones could be added.
