So now that scrubbing is a built in Jellyfin feature and not a plugin, any plan to support it?

Do you mean the TrickPlay functionality?

Yes. When moving on timeline to get a view of the video instead of nothing. I know it was asked before with Jellyscrub and the answer was always only support official features, so just wondering now that's official if there are plans for it.

This is a duplicate of closed issues #2504 and #3316. However, as @woolmonkey mentioned, TrickPlay has been merged with base Jellyfin, so the reasoning behind the closure of these issues has been addressed.

Forgot to reply, whoops. The next release of the app (0.17.0) will require at least Jellyfin 10.9.0. With that requirement its now possible to start implementing the new 10.9 features. I've already started on lyrics support for example.

TrickPlay is planned for the new video player (details in #1057), however I'm not sure if that will be available in 0.17.0 as there are some issues in how we load item information in the app that need to be fixed first.

TrickPlay doesn't seem to be mentioned in that issue at all. Is that just oversight or is there intentionally no "TODO" item for it in that issue? Just trying to figure out which issues to subscribe to stay updated on this particular feature.

Thanks for all of your work on this app. It's really the heart and soul of what makes Jellyfin useful (to me, and I am sure lots of others, at least).

Keeping lists up-to-date is not my greatest skill 😄. This issue is a feature request for trickplay support and thus will be closed once implemented. So subscribing to updates here should be enough.

Well surprise 🎉! I was already working on experimental TrickPlay support since a few days back, and I just finished it. The feature will be available with the next 0.18 beta and must be enabled first in the developer preferences of the app.
