Right now, musicxml-grooves only converts MMA groove patterns to MusicXML. Since the groove specification is structurally very close to raw MIDI, it should be possible to reuse much of the existing code to convert MIDI files to MusicXML. One big caveat is that the current code only handles drum tracks, which is a subset of full MIDI files.
