Dear Team,

I am currently working on developing a digital twin and would like to integrate a map layer into my model. Could you please guide me through the steps required for this?

Should I geolocate my model, and if so, how can I achieve this?
How can I accurately position my model at the correct location on the map?

Hi Yousuef,

You should definitely geolocate your iModel, here's some documentation you can refer to for best practices regarding that.

Re setting the background map, iTwin.js provides some default background map providers (Bing and MapBox) and all you need to do is provide an API key for it via MapLayerOptions. If you are using the iTwin Viewer React component, this is as simple as providing the mapLayerOptions prop to the <Viewer /> component.
