I just updated my hoobs box from v4 to v5.15. The legacy app still works just fine, but the new hoobs client app will only find the hoobs in it's scan, when I select it by clicking on it shows "Loading device..." but then returns back to the origin screen

Please see attached screen video capture!

Thank you for reporting this issue. Can you please provide the error logs by going to the top bar on your Mac while having the HOOBS application open, click on 'View' then 'Toggle developer tools'. This will open a developer console next to your application. Make sure 'Console' is selected from the 2 chevrons >> drop down. Then clear the logs and perform the action again and take a screenshot of those logs.

If you go in your browser to http://hoobs.local do you still see the old UI or the new one? And if you see the old one are you still able to login and use the device normally with the old UI?
Trying to identify where the failure might be because in your initial message you posted that 'The legacy app still works just fine'.

Going to hoobs.local loads the new UI (and changes to my IP Address, just in case that is important). But the first few times trying to log in with my cloud account, it refreshed the page and wanted me to log in again. After trying a few times it stopped asking and now just shows blank area where the login was (screenshot attached)

Is there anyway to just login locally and bypass the login like I had in v4? At least for now so I can use this? I don't much care about accessing this remotely, I have other tools for that!

You can try to reset the auth using the terminal at http://hoobs.local:9090
Default user: hoobs
Default password: hoobsadmin
It will ask you to change it and relogin if you never used the terminal before.

Run this to reset the auth:

sudo hbs system reset auth
Then restart hoobsd
sudo systemctl restart hoobsd

You can also reset the whole system with just
sudo hbs system reset
Then
sudo hbs install

You will be able to restore your backup file after you login into the new UI.

If you cannot get into the terminal you can just reflash your microSD card

Yeah terminal is broken it seems doesn't load in terminal or the app, I will refresh the sd card this weekend

The IP address is 192

Where do I get access to the download? When clicking on the Raspberry Pi download link it downloads v4.3 (they all do, I tried Hoobs box, MacOS, etc)!

This link that I found on Google seems to be what I might need returns a Error 404:

HOOBS 5 images will be published this week. In the meantime if you flash the current image you can just click upgrade right away from the new HOOBS 5 app before you even restore a backup. It should be fairly quick

@askovi Ok I reflashed and then the new desktop app asked me to backup and update - I did that and now the app shows 2 Hoobs devices. One is 4.3 (with the green dot) and the other is 5.x (with the yellow dot). Clicking on the v5 nothing happens, clicking on the v4.3 asks to backup and update again, which I have tried but the same happens..

Ok so weird things happened, I got it to work but I had to run sudo hbs system reset Then sudo hbs install on the brand new v4.3 to v5.1.6 update then it finally let me in where I could restore my backup. It seems it doesn't like the local account, maybe have something in the upgrade process that disables the local account and then takes the backup?

Now more random issues presenting, overnight hoobs stopped working. I try to connect to it via the app on my phone and it won’t find anything on its scan, I abort the scan and hoobs is shown but has a yellow dot. I open terminal and am greeted with a login, I am able to log in. I leave the app to look up the restart command but when I come back to type that in Terminal will no longer accept my input. Have to force close the application and when I reopen the app finds hoobs and connects but now shows no data, no bridges, nothing.

I know I can reset and load my backup again but would rather have these bugs fixed so they don’t happen to others!

@askovi I couldn't wait any longer as nothing is working so I wiped it again and loaded 4.3 and when connecting to the Hoobs client app it forces you to upgrade and then when it's done it has the 2 instances again!

Is the v5 image releasing soon (this week right?) so I can just install that vs this flash and then update to a broken mess scenario?

Something is definitely broken with the upgrade process. Both times now I have had to go into terminal and do these commands just to get in: sudo hbs system reset Then sudo hbs install

Then the auto update dialogue doesn't work either, it does whatever it does and then stops. To fix/get in I have to manually update (which if the screen turns off while in terminal - did on my iPhone and my Mac - then terminal will not accept keyboard input anymore and you have to force quit and start over again) in terminal.

I don't know what to do anymore. This is just not working. Constantly will stop working. Right now shows all bridges not running on the dashboard - I go to the Bridges area and it says there are no bridges installed. I restart the Hoobs and then I can no longer get into the box - just shows as a yellow dot forever (minutes, hours, etc). Is this some kind of bug? Nothing is making sense. Terminal doesn't work either - doesn't take the password I set or the default password but after trying to sign in numerous times the Hoobs box becomes available with a green dot.

If you want to determine the issue please let me know, otherwise I am going back to 4.3 and getting away from this buggy stuff. My house doesn't work anymore!

Do you have by chance still have a download link for the old Hoobs desktop application? I removed after I upgraded and things were working but the new app only offers me to upgrade?

Also being back on 4.3.0, how do I update just the plugins without updating to 5+ since it doesn't work for me I do not want to upgrade right now as stability a concern that is high on the list
