People track their assets for various reasons - for me the main reasons are Insurance and Warranties - this post is about possible improvements in relation to Insurance.
In addition to Purchase price per asset add a new price field - this field would be used for Current Value, or Replacement Value - it follows that we can run report for total Replacement Value of all assets - to then be used for example for Home Contents insurance. This has been suggested before Track insured value along with purchase price. #353
Add a new object 'Insurance' - where we can enter the details of the insurance Name, policy number, renewal date, attach a copy of certificate of insurance etc - get notified of expiry.
Currently we can select if an item is Insured - expand and allow to select which insurance applies to item. One idea I had was that you can attach an insurance to a location and then all items in that location are covered.
When the above is done - be able to save/print a complete Insurance Report that could go into an emergency documents box and covers all insured items including Insurance claim details.
