FYI when I set up the HKN site, I was able to get this working fairly easily using this configuration. Note that the %(blah)s instances are placeholders for values that would be templated during deployment.

I don't actually have the slightest clue how this is deployed or where the nginx configurations for an application such as this would live. Otherwise yeah, I'd totally PR it instead of commenting on an issue.
