Android version(s): 15
Android device(s): Xperia 1 VI (XQ-EC54)
Oboe version: 1.9.0
App name used for testing: Oboetester, Mini Piano Lite
(Please try to reproduce the issue using the OboeTester or an Oboe sample.)

Short description
I got report from a user that updated his Xperia 1 VI (which is a very expensive flagship model) to Android 15, that app didn't output any audio anymore. Before update to 15 it worked. I acquired the device myself, and indeed, after (just released) update to Android 15, there is no audio output anymore.

Steps to reproduce

  • Start Oboetester
  • Press 'Open' (succeeds)
  • Press 'Start'
    Expected behavior
    Stream starts
    Actual behavior
    -899 error
    Device
    Xperia 1 VI (XQ-EC54) - Android 15

Any additional context
It seems to be related to the audio enhancement system settings (Dolby and some spatial audio stuff that is enabled by default). When I disable all enhancements, it works again. Dolby only also works, but enabling DSEE causes the issue. It seems that Sony has messed up their release, and need to fix something. It would be great if you could raise this internally somehow.

The user indicates that some other apps (presumable Oboe using ones) also do not have audio out anymore.
