Git Fundamentals Cheat Sheet

Command Description Example
git init Initialize a new Git repository git init
git status Check the status of files (tracked, untracked, staged) git status
git add <file> Stage a specific file git add file.txt
git add . Stage all changes git add .
git commit -m "<message>" Commit staged changes with a message git commit -m "Initial commit"
git push origin <branch> Push commits to the remote repository git push origin main

git diff Show unstaged changes in the working directory git diff
