Self sufficient user registry based on Authentik?

Hello, I need to create a self contained user registry with self-registration, without interacting with any email services and so on.

Have anyone of you done such a thing? How to fight spam for example? How to make accounts recoverable when users forget passwords?

I will be grateful for any hints and comments.
