Not able to get the client to clear characters from

Powershell to Linux. I compiled this for Windows and opened a SSH session between windows and linux. When I hit backspace the characters are actually deleted but the visual effect is not there.

Did you happen to resize the window at all? I've also seen weird output things like that in docker if the output is greater than the original window size, though it sounds like this is before running anything inside the shell?
