Datasets
The webpage presents gamma-ray data (mostly images and catalog) as well as other multi-wavelength data that is useful to investigate and understand the gamma-ray data.
What the site contains at the moment is just a starting point. If you have an idea for data we should add, please contact us, or even collaborate and add it with us!
Currently, gamma-sky.net contains the following image and catalog data:
Survey images are prepared in HIPS format. CDS is providing 300+ survey images in HIPS format.
The main image we display at the moment is a Fermi-LAT color image:
- Best pixel size of 0.014 deg
- RGB in energy bands R=0.3-1GeV, G=1-3GeV, B=3-300GeV
In the toolbox drop down labeled "Base image layer", we currently display these additional surveys:
- Planck R2 LFI Color 30-44-70 GHz
- Planck R1 HFI Color 353-545-857 GHz
- Planck R2 HFI Color 353-545-857 GHz
- Haslam 408 (radio)
- Spitzer GLIMPSE360
- IRIS Band 4-100um
- CGPS-VGPS CONT
- AKARI 90um
(Note: some of the links may be broken.)
- SNRcat catalog (accessed 2015-02-08)
At the moment the TeV source catalog we show it the TeGeV Catalogue @ ASDC (v2, July 2015) (http://www.asdc.asi.it/tgevcat/), processed using the script [here]https://github.com/gammapy/gammapy-extra/blob/master/datasets/catalogs/make_tegev.py).
We're not using TeVCat (http://tevcat.uchicago.edu/) because it's not openly available for download and we want all data shown on gamma-sky.net to be openly available.
Yet another TeV catalog: http://www.ritsumei.ac.jp/~morim/TeV-catalog/index.html
We're considering making a new open TeV catalog, seeding it with the ASDC catalog and another catalog we've been assembling for the HESS Galactic plane survey. If you're interested in this or have questions or comments, let us know at https://github.com/gammapy/gamma-sky/issues/33 or via email.
