Hi all,
A new Spectral TeV Extragalactic Catalog has been released: arXiv:2304.00835. Its insertion into gamma-cat might be wise.

@bkhelifi - is gammacat still alive? Last update more than 5 years ago. We probably should discuss what we do with it.

On the pectral TeV Extragalactic Catalog : has it been released? I can't find a link in the paper to the catalogue, also can't find it on the web.

Hi @GernotMaier
This is a fair question that we have discussed during the writing of the Gammapy paper. We think that it should be still alive....
There is not so many machine-readable catalogs, and it would be sad to not continue it!
At each publication of HESS, VERITAS and MAGIC, people could populate the catalog with their new detections... a proposal. And any volunteer (or trainee)

Yes, but finding people is the issue.

On the VERITAS side, the conclusion was to maintain one catalogue (VTSCat), and this is already quite an effort and not always up to date.

Which is a great news!
By having a function that ingests your official catalog into gamma-cat, the future effort will be then almost negligible.
VERITAS has made the hardest by having a machine-readable catalog that is up-to-date. HESS has not made (yet) this effort...

In MAGIC we are (for long time now) preparing dedicated .yaml and .ecsv tables in an independent way from GAMMACAT (but it all started from there). It will be easy for us to parse (in batches) our data into GAMMACAT data. However, back then, the amount of information in GAMMACAT seemed to us not sufficient for a complete legacy, that's why we decided to add some more information.

Hi @micheledoro ,
I have missed this info, thanks a lot!

To @GernotMaier, @micheledoro, @adonath, @registerrier, should we organise a small call to list what could be done, what has to be coded, which kind of information needs to be added? I propose to add Lucas Gréaux et Jonathan Biteau... (they are not yet contributors to this git project)

Please also add [email protected] and [email protected]

Sounds good. @bkhelifi - will you organise this?
