WiFi and cellular but WiFi connection has parental controls that disallow internet access; phone is still connected to WiFi and thinks it has internet.
only cellular data but using a firewall to block all GrayJay traffic (NetGuard).
Open GrayJay, play the downloaded video.
Expected behaviour
Video plays, interface is responsive, no web content loads either attempting forever or giving up after a short time.
Actual behaviour
Video begins playing in the background, the entire interface freezes.
Android starts to warn that GrayJay has frozen.
Sometimes, GrayJay becomes responsive but Android is convinced it is frozen so it pops up a dialog asking me to kill it every few seconds (even while I am using the app).
Other times, GrayJay never unfreezes.
More info
If I shut off cellular and WiFi, open GrayJay and start playing the downloaded video, everything works as expected. Then if I turn on cellular and WiFi again, everything continues working as expected.
