The log_martians setting is not enabled on the app and mon servers. Enabling and
logging these packets allows administrators to investigate potential spoofed packet
attacks.

Our default position is to minimize logging, and SecureDrop’s architecture involves a physical firewall. We will be investigating this further to see if it makes sense in that context.
