Getting error "Encountered HTML Content when looking for http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/:Envelope" #290

This error happens intermittently. The HTML response comes from the Salesforce Edge server and it doesn't have any information about what exactly caused this issue.
Could you please give us some hints about the cause of the issue and how to resolve it from the client side ?
