Description

I am using Files, but the PDF viewing app is fixed to Microsoft Edge as mentioned in the title, and I cannot change it to another PDF app. In the default Windows 11 File Explorer, I can change and view PDFs without any issues.

@CHT569 the default application can be changed via the context menu under the 'Open with' menu.

@yaira2
Thank you for your reply.
Yes, as you mentioned, I have confirmed that it is possible to open a PDF file with any desired PDF app from the "Open with" option.
However, even if I change the PDF launch app from the properties in the Files settings, the change is not reflected at all, and it remains fixed on Microsoft Edge, which cannot be changed.

Here is the current method to reproduce the issue:

Right-click on any PDF file.
Select "Properties" from the context menu that appears.
In the "General" tab, select the desired PDF app in the "Opens with" section. That's it.
Also, I have performed the same operation in Windows 11 Explorer, with the same result.

Files doesn't have an option to change the default application from the properties window. Are you sure you're using Files?
