Sending an UDP packet with an empty payload or with a payload larger then 1472 bytes to the core leaves it unresponsive. For the > 1472 I can see with wireshark packet fragmentation is occurring. While I don't expect the core to handle packet fragmentation I don't think the right way is for the core to crash. Just ignoring it would be fine.
