Pasting the input text in linux removes CR characters

When trying to calculate a CRC16 for a text that has both LF and CR characters i keep on getting wrong results.
After analysis i see that the algorithm is ignoring the CR chars.

If i copy the text back from the text input field to an external editor i see that the CR are missing!
Not sure if this is an input text box problem or if this is a chrome thing.
