Protecting the master branch

Hi all, I'm going to enable the option to protect the master branch. I'm by far the biggest offender of committing directly to master of course. The main reason I want to change this is so when I do releases, the summary of changes is automatically generated based on pull request descriptions, but I also do think it is generally good practice.
