Describe the bug
Occasionally I cannot add a sixth pokemon to my team. I am currently in Pokemon Sword mode.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Click to the "empty" pokeball in the team lineup at the top of the display.
  2. Click on the a pokemon in my roster.
  3. Click "add to team"
  4. "Empty" slot still remains.

Expected behavior
It should add the pokemon to my team.

(I followed the steps above...my cursor isn't showing up in the screenshots)

Note that you can also see here that even though there's an empty spot on my team, none of the "add" buttons are appearing next to the other catches:

Screenshots
If applicable, add screenshots to help explain your problem.

Desktop (please complete the following information):

  • OS: Windows 11
  • Browser: Opera
  • Version: Not sure how to find the version, but I only just started using the site, so there shouldn't be any caching issues of older versions?

(also have the same issue on the mobile app, which leads me to believe it might be user error, but I can't figure out what it would be)

Smartphone (please complete the following information):

  • Device: Galaxy S10+
  • OS: REV1.0
  • Version: Not sure the version, but I downloaded the app within the past week and there's no update available

Additional context
It only seems to happen sometimes but I can't seem to get it to work and then get it to stop again to figure out what, if anything, is breaking down.

Can confirm that the same thing is happening with Pokemon Red. An added piece of info I have noticed is that when I'm in the app I have the blank space, but when I go back to the main screen and have the option to continue, it shows that Kadabra is still in my party. Kadabra died though so I think what is happening is the party isn't displaying Kadabra because they are dead but on the backend the party still thinks Kadabra is in the party because it wasn't properly removed when it died.

The community figured this out. You marked Kadabra as dead without removing it from your team first. As a result, the site still thinks it's still alive. Set it back to "Captured," then (if it's still on your team) remove it using the top buttons, then mark it as dead again.
