More a separate project...

Manage mod (enable/disable) and the loading priority (modifing the timestamp, 5+years in future to not override the official firmwares)

Install mods from repository/nexus mods api?

#22 would be solvable over the "mod installer"

Other way would be to detect file overlay collisions and notify user that this will not work
