In the README file, a tutorial link http://www.ais.uni-bonn.de/~schulz/tag/cuv is mentioned. But accessing this link results into a 404 error.

The tutorials were somewhat out of date. There is a new tutorial at http://www.ais.uni-bonn.de/deep_learning/tutorial.html. I'll update the links.

Is there a new link for the MLP discussion by any chance?

sadly, no. We have a convnet library built on top of cuv now, which is not released yet, however.
