Description

I am trying to translate the string «Block styles» in the toolbars dropdwon for styles.

Overwriting translations/de/ckeditor.php does not show any effect in thos case (whereas for Link's dropdown it does).

return [ 'Insert link' => 'Link einfügen', 'Link to an entry' => 'Link zu einem Eintrag', 'Link to an asset' => 'Link zu einer Datei', 'Link to a category' => 'Link zu einer Kategorie', 'Block styles' => 'Blockstile' ];

Am I missing sth.?

  • Craft version: 5.5.7
  • PHP version:8.3
  • Database driver & version:MariaDB10.6
  • Plugins & versions: CKEditor 4.4.0

Hi, thanks for reaching out! That translation is coming from the CKEditor package itself. The translations in the translations/de/ckeditor.php affect the items added by Craft’s CKEditor plugin.

Is the control panel language set to German (Switzerland) in your account preferences?

It looks like “Block styles” should already be showing as “Block-Stile” if your selected language is German, but there’s no translation for it for German (Switzerland).

CKEditor allows you to add your own ui translations and you can also contribute to the translations that the CKEditor package provides.

I hope this helps!

I’ll close this now, but feel free to reply if anything’s unclear.

Iwona, thanks for your answer! I was looking in the language settings of the site, not of the user's control panel, which was a bad idea...
Cheers
