You can type on the chat box but you cannot delete using the delete key on the keyboard for mac

Exactly same issue with this post.

Yes, downgrading Jetbrains to 2024.1.x would fix it but the solution can't be to downgrade the jetbrains product. Jetbrains AI assistant and github copilot works fine.
