I use inside of a docker enviroment the following:
pip install cython --no-cache-dir pip install "git+https://github.com/open-mmlab/cocoapi.git#subdirectory=pycocotools"
I did not had to rebuild the docker for a while and suddenly it fails. The reason is that cython is now on a new version 3.0.0. I can fix it via
pip install cython==0.29.36 --no-cache-dir pip install "git+https://github.com/open-mmlab/cocoapi.git#subdirectory=pycocotools"
Any ideas how to fix that? Is that an error in cocoapi or an error in cython.

same problem here
Sorry, something went wrong.
This issue was discussed in the cython Github repo. A pointer to this fix on a cocoapi fork worked for me. The commit message explains why it works too. This is the offending line.
