first of all, thanks to the devs for creating and maintaining brief - i like the simplicity of it

didn't want to open separate issues for the following suggestions, but will be happy to do so if the dev(s) have an interest in any of them

  • use browser dark/light theme
  • in the sidebar, add ability to manually add a feed (since brief will not always detect feeds for every platform)
  • the search bar seems to be disabled - unable to enter text
  • in the header for the reader panel, remove "open website" context menu item and just link the name/title to the website
  • in the sidebar panel for "all items", add "empty all items" context menu item
  • in the sidebar panel, add "re-fetch" context menu item for each individual feed - the idea here is to fetch all available articles for a given subscription - this can be quite useful if one accidentally deletes the articles or wants to know when the website last published an article since it may not be worthwhile subscribing to a feed that hasn't been updated in a long time
  • i think the CSS needs a serious overhaul (a lot of unnecessary `!important' for ex. that makes styling difficult) - while i can help with that, i'm no expert
  • for the sidebar panel feed titles, process/decode html encodes (such as ')
  • for the sidebar panel, display number on unread items for each folder/group (when multiple feeds are organized into folders)
  • ...

i'll post more ideas/suggestions over the next few days as i continue to use brief

Thank you for the suggestions. I don't have much time right now, but will try to take a look at Brief state and next possible improvements this week or so.
