We have some workarounds to ensure that our theme compatibility system works with default CPT templates like archive.html in WP's default block themes. See #728. We should move to a system where we provide a proper archive-bp_doc.html template (and perhaps some sort of corresponding "create" template?). See #728 (comment) for some initial thoughts.
