Influxdb 3.0 support #114
Comments
Hi @ronaldn1969, excellant question. I read about the InfluxDB 3.0 a while ago and I was not pleased about their announcement. From what it sounds like, you should be able to use influx community version 3.0 with the current fritzinfluxdb version, just need to use the InfluxDB 1 options to communicate with Influx. Have not tried it out. So currently I would just wait it out a bit more and see what happens. And then I would have to adopt the dashboards to whatever is supported by Grafana 😢. What do you think? |
Hi Ricardo... Long time ago that I thought about v3. But today I woke up and find out, that it's still not available and that you refereed some issues to this topic. Are there limitations in v1 and v2 so that you can't continue? Because I saw, that it will be possible in FritzOS 8, to get traffic information per device. Would it be possible to add this? Hi @ronaldn1969, Yes, this is still an issue. I refuse to add/change dashboards as long as there is no clear path forward. Any option requires an adoption to whatever Influxdb comes up with next. I talked to a person from Influx at a developers conference this summer. He said they are working on it and they are aware of the situation. This sounded promising but so fat nothing has materialized. But that doesn't mean we can't already add the scraping of said data. Would it be possible to open a new issue with a description on which data would need to be gathered? Thank you. |
thanks for the quick response... Sounds good, when I get the data, I can try to build my own visualization. Cheers |
Hi Ricardo
Still using your awesome project with influxdb 1.8 because I didn't get a hand on flux. Now I read that Influxdb 3 community will come around the corner and will use again InfluxQL instead of Flux.
Could I ask you, if it is possible, also to implement the v3 support, when influxdb community is available...? ;o)
Cheers
Ronald
