Enter values and colors in the gui to edit a new colormap directly and design the colormap.
we can import json file generated elsewhere, but it would be useful to create the colormap online.

Hi this is Jérôme.
The idea would be to:

  • put a color for the beginning of the range and another one for the en of the range.
  • get a smooth transition from one color to the other in the middle.

We are looking at this. It would be helpful to know what the advantage is to creating your own color scales, so that we could most effectively address the issue. Are you looking to be able to add a wider range of hue scales, in a wider range of colors? Or?
We have included within each hue set a couple of types of color scales: wide hue range (good for feature identification); clear simple hue scales, best for combining with multiple other hues; muted scales for contextual information; hue scales spanning only the lighter or darker ranges.
Your thoughts would be helpful. Know that you can add a colormap to the selection list by dragging and dropping an .xml file, in the ParaView format (same as one you would download), into the list of colormaps on the left. It will appear at the bottom of the list so you might need to scroll down. Also, discreet colors can be added up at the top via the plus sign button at the end of the default discreet color selection.

Agreed with your comment.
True we can import hue as xml, and take as examples the ones you provide (or Paraview, or sciviscolor).
The idea would be to have an online hue editor, but we understand this is tedious work, and feature is already available as an XML import, so editor would be outside of colormoves.
Depending on user space, maybe it is not fast and easy to test different hues this way.
