Thread Network Protocol Redux #124
Comments
@battlecow at this time there is no planned support for Thread protocol for this repo. |
is there an alternative repo that there IS planned support for the thread protocol? this certainly SEEMS like the most likely candidate for it. If not, where might we best advocate for this decision to be re-evaluated? This feels counter to the intent of Apple being a strong advocate for thread, as has been touted elsewhere |
Would like to +1 this especially given the upcoming advent of Matter where thread is the desired connection method. Or ar hobbyists going to be locked out of Matter entirely as well? probably. |
bump? @aajain-com - if this repo is NOT the place for this, what repo IS? ALSO: Is there a repo wherein homekit on rpi pico /w and the rpi2040 series microcontrollers is being worked on / explored? |
Bump. Thread support would be much appreciated. |
Knowing that this issue was asked over a year ago and the ADK pdf hasn't been updated since 2019 I want to ask again if there is planned support of the thread protocol for the hobbyist segment? With an ESP chip announced and shipping this year (https://www.espressif.com/en/news/ESP32_H2) and the Nordic chips found in Eve products already functional with thread enabled (https://www.nordicsemi.com/News/2020/12/HomePod-mini-smart-speaker-support-Thread-networking-protocol-and-enables-nRF52840) it would be great to have this support added for the tinkerers.
