I am unsure about the description of this package.

  • Does it monitors the state of the GPU and switch it off when not in use?
  • Does it works in Ubuntu 17.10?

Thank you.

The power management isn't that important anymore as Ubuntu has fixed their GPU Manager service. PRIME Indicator polls every N seconds if your GPU is turned on and if it's in Intel mode (which means GPU Manager screwed up) and the power management option is enabled, it tries to turn it off. If any of these conditions aren't true, it leaves the card as it is.

It most likely works on 17.10.
