In my environment, I must set COMPOSER_HOME env before process run, otherwise composer throw error:

"The HOME or COMPOSER_HOME environment variable must be set for composer to run correctly"

putenv('COMPOSER_HOME=' . __DIR__ . '/vendor/bin/composer');

btw: thanks for simple code, works great with gitlab webhooks
